Vitra Tripod

The Vitra Tripod series is George Nelson's table clock on a three-legged stand. The page shows the Tripod clock in polished brass with white details and a quartz movement, a playful accent for a living room or an office. It is a table clock with a small, sculptural stand.

Vitra Tripod: a clock on three legs

The Tripod clock by George Nelson adds personality to a living room or an office. The finish is polished brass, the movement is quartz, and the three-legged stand gives it a distinct visual charm. The brass keeps its warm tone next to wood and dark metal, so the clock is easy to place on a shelf, a desk or a sideboard.

Brass and white

White details contrast with the brass and complete the clock in a simple, elegant way. The quartz movement runs on one 1.5 volt battery, which is included.

One of 150 clocks

Between 1948 and 1960, Nelson and his staff designed more than 150 clocks for the American company Howard Miller, a mix of wall clocks and table clocks with freely played shapes and no numbers on the dial. Other pieces from Vitra are gathered under Vitra decorative accessories.
