HAY Layout

The HAY Layout series is a family of dining chairs designed by Julien Renault, with an open backrest and soft, organic shapes. Choose between versions with armrests and a swivel base, with seats in many colours, fabrics and woods. The parts can be taken apart for repair.

HAY Layout: an open backrest and soft shapes

Layout has a characteristic opening in the backrest that gives support and a light look. The chair has rounded wooden legs and a moulded veneer seat, and the seat can be chosen in many colours and fabrics. The shell is made from at least 96 percent recycled plastic, and it is built so that parts can be taken apart to repair and update the chair.

Models and finishes

Layout comes in models 211, 212, 213, 224 and 234, all with armrests, and the 234 also has a swivel base on an aluminium frame. Colours include Biscotti, Bordeaux and Bottle Green, and upholstery includes Hallingdal, Remix and Mode, with oak on several models. Seat and legs can be chosen in the same wood type and finish.
