Hokore Pendant Bamboo
Product Information
The HOKORE the pendant is a true work of art, where the interplay of light and shadow adds a distinctive, sculptural dimension to the space. The name Hokore means proud in Japanese and refers to the inspiration behind the lamp: the strength of a flower bud that grows and unfolds into full bloom.
The lamp is created based on the traditional takesensuji technique, originally used to make insect cages and paper lanterns. Here, the rich traditions of the craft are continued in a modern idiom with contemporary application.
HOKORE is meticulously handcrafted in Japan by artist Tani Toshiyuki in collaboration with experienced bamboo masters and consists of almost 1,000 thin bamboo strips.
