Vitra armchairs: Eames Armchair with Ottoman

The Eames Armchair was designed by Charles and Ray Eames and has been in production since 1956. The outer shell is made of Santos rosewood, or walnut and cherry in other versions, with upholstery in leather or fabric and an aluminium base. Together with the ottoman it forms one of the best-known lounge chairs in furniture design.

Grand Repos and Mariposa

Grand Repos is a generous armchair with ottoman, built for comfort with thick padding, a dynamic backrest mechanism and an enveloping shape, on a swivel base in Chrome. It comes in fabrics such as Cosy 2, Dumet and Nubia. The Mariposa Club Armchair is available in covers such as Credo, Laser RE, Plano and Nubia.

Plywood and plastic armchairs

The Plywood Group LCM and LCW chairs were designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the mid-1940s, after years of experimenting with moulded plywood. LCM stands for Lounge Chair Metal, with a metal frame; LCW has plywood legs in ash or black ash. Eames Plastic RAR is the plastic shell armchair in Deep Black with a maple base. The La Chaise, Living Tower and Slow armchairs show other sides of Vitra. Together they cover a wide range of seating, from compact plywood chairs to deep lounge chairs with an ottoman.
