Sekiun 50 Pendant White

Like a small cumulus cloud drifting above the table. Japanese designer Ryota Yokozeki let the ever-changing shapes of summer clouds inspire Sekiun, and the result is a pendant that seems to float rather than hang. Two sheets of specially coated washi paper are rolled and layered by hand into a soft, airy volume, and in crisp white the paper glows with a calm, gentle light that makes the whole room feel lighter.

Walk around it, and the silhouette changes – from one angle a soft sphere, from another a layered, sculptural cloud – so the lamp never looks quite the same twice. Small brass screws and a brass fitting add a refined, warm detail. With a diameter of 51 cm and a height of 34 cm, it is lovely as a single statement above the dining table, or hung in a cluster for a playful, cloud-like composition. Fitted with 300 cm of white textile cord and a white ceiling cup; uses an E27 bulb (not included, max 7 W LED recommended).
