Tsmugi A Pendant White/Bamboo

Around 75 metres of bamboo ribs, woven together into one glowing lantern. Tsumugi – Japanese for 'to weave together' – is the result of a close collaboration between bamboo craftsmen and washi paper artisans in Japan. Designer Toshiyuki Tani has placed the ribs closer together than in a traditional lantern, so the white washi paper gets a fine, refined texture and an elegant, almost textile-like look when the light is on.

At the bottom, a beautifully crafted bamboo structure completes the lantern and casts a subtle rhythm of shadows when the light shines through it. Version A measures 58 cm in diameter and 60 cm in height – a soft, warm centrepiece above a dining table, in a living room or in a calm bedroom. Handmade in Japan with a porcelain fitting, 300 cm of white textile cord and a white ceiling cup. Uses an E27 bulb (not included, max 7 W LED recommended).
