Design: Alvar Aalto in 1936 for Artek

Concept: Umbrella Stand 115, designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Artek in 1955, is a timeless piece in both design and materials. The stand consists of three solid birch columns, which are joined by two lamella springs of lamella birch, and their intertwining creates a visual rhythm. Here, for the first time in Artek's history, brass has been used. Over time, it develops its own individual patina and highlights the warm tone of the wood.
